Angry's a good description. I don't know if that wound up being the worst case scenario but that was pretty damn bad.

That doesn't begin to cover it. And we still don't know why they wanted the relic in the first place.

No we don't. None of us could recognize it planetside and now there's no chance of figuring it out. They're sure not going to tell us. Great command transparency there.

That's been a constant since I got here.

And it's not going to change. This is how they run things so this is going to be all we get.

We just have to figure out what we can do to deal with that.

I'm not sure I'm willing to join any more of their missions, but I also don't know what effect will outright refusal have on how they treat us.

If they request volunteers and you keep your head down I don't see them doing anything. Hope you didn't do too good of a job. Maybe they won't ask you for anything directly.

I've never been great at keeping my head down.

Then don't. But keeping quiet is going to keep you off their radar if they have something in store for those who openly disagree with their command.

Follow your gut. There's bound to be a few people willing to play along if it seems like there's going to be a problem for everyone.

[ shiro doesn't want there to be any more blown up planets. if they can avoid more of that, shiro will be - well, not happy, but at least marginally happier. ] What are you planning to do?

I'm going to wait and see what they ask. There can be benefits to impressing a command you don't care for and if any of those benefits are answers or explanations? I want them.

I want answers, too. Not sure I trust that they'd offer those as benefit, but who knows. They're not easy to read.

Until we know more I figure it's worth a shot. And I don't mind being someone who plays on their side for now. I've seen worse and I've proven myself. Maybe they trust me.
